The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave crossing the central Atlantic.
This wave, invest 94L, has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression over the next day or so as it moves west-northwestward towards the Lesser Antilles.

A north turn is anticipated with the system as it moves towards the Lesser Antilles. This system is not a threat to the United States.
Regardless of development, this system has the potential to bring gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and flooding to portions of the Lesser Antilles beginning Friday.

Right now the system has a high, 80% chance of development over the next two to seven days.
The next name of the season is Tammy. So far this season we’ve had 19 total storms, six hurricanes, and three major hurricanes. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
